Contrasting Elements

After a trip to the 2015 exhibition of Alexander McQueen's work at the Victoria and Albert museum I was inspired to create a collection of work which manipulated materials into new forms.

I used imagery from my surroundings to create patterns that were then put onto leather. Using leather was a great tool to push my work; cutting, bending and plugging the leather allowed me to create a range of pieces. Most of the work centred on small multiples being used together to create one large piece.

The use of leather sparked my creative enquiry into harder materials, without this project I would not have moved onto using wood and metal.
