Fabulous Botanics
My focus for this project was to look at everything botanical as this was an expansive area I narrowed my research to hydrangeas. I liked the simple form of the individual delicate petals and the shape created by them en-masse giving an overall larger bloom.
I used cyanotype ink to create the initial outline shapes. The infill colours were created with my own take on the current colour palette trends. I then took the designs repeated and flipped them to create a pattern which could be easily used in today’s giftwrap market.
