Make Do and Mend
Make do and mend was an amazing opportunity created by the National Woollen Museum of Wales, the national college competition required me to create a product under the theme of 'Make do and mend'. I started by looking within the museum, drawing from the spindles, scanning the woollen pieces they create and learning about the history of wool in Wales. From this research I created a range of notebooks that used the images of wool from the museum as a background to my drawings.
To keep within the theme of 'Make do and mend' I used recycled paper and combined new drawings with traditional woven fabrics to create a modern outcome. The final outcome was entered into the competition and I was amazed to find I was given second place.
