Graduate Symposium

As part of our current university program we have been having talks from past graduates. The speakers have all helped to explain what life is going to be like after university. They explained how the internships and work experience each had helped them to achieve their current work, whether that be within a company or self employment.

The explanation of how to promote yourself and push yourself to be able to get the jobs was really inspiring. The little tips and hints in making the most of all the opportunities you are given helped and is something I will bare in mind in the future.

Tips and Hints

- Have a professional email address

- Be confident but approachable

- Do your research

- Be memorable (for the right reasons)

- Make sure you motivate yourself

- Keep upbeat in times of rejection

The talks we had really helped to give an idea of what to expect when you graduate and how to be the most successful when you are finally out in the real world. Huge thank you to all the speakers for the advice given.
